Greg Lindsay AO
Executive Director and Founder of The Centre for Independent Studies
While studying philosophy at Macquarie University in the early 1970s, Mr Lindsay became interested in the ideas underpinning a free and open society. A maths teacher by training, Mr Lindsay taught for some years at Richmond High School in Western Sydney, and while there, founded the Centre in 1976. Since then, he has overseen the development of CIS into Australia's largest independent think tank covering the three major policy areas – economic, social and international.
He has been active in the international liberal movement and is a former President of The Mont Pelerin Society (www.montpelerin.org). He is a member of the Council of Macquarie University.

Cathleen Ly
Cathleen has a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Certified Practising Accountant. Cathleen has extensive experience as an Account Manager having worked for many years for Optus and then a medical centre.

Ryan has been working as a desktop publisher since 2004 and joined the CIS in 2010 where he is able to combine desktop publishing with graphic design work.

Diana Kennedy
Di Kennedy is the Corporate Development Officer. She has a strong background in the corporate environment, having worked for many years in the finance industry and most recently with the National Australia Bank. She has recently worked overseas for UBS Business Banking. Di has a Masters of Business Administration from the Open University, Milton Keynes, England.

Mangai Pitchai
Mangai has a Master of Philosophy and an Associate’s degree in Journalism. She has a range of experience starting with high school teaching, then various editing positions in newspapers in the USA and India. Since moving to Australia, Mangai has worked for LexisNexis, McGraw-Hill, and has helped edit various websites.

Events Manager
Meegan Cornforth
With more than twelve years’ experience in event management, marketing and public relations, Meegan has had an interesting and varied career working for organisations such as the Australian National Maritime Museum, the Australian Human Resources Institute, the Olympic Co-ordination Authority, and the Investigator Science and Technology Centre. Prior to joining CIS in January 2008, Meegan freelanced as a writer and editor of corporate materials and non-fiction books, and spent two years living in Argentina.

Alanna Elliott
Alana has a Bachelor of Communication Studies majoring in Television Production from the Auckland University of Technology. Before moving to Sydney in 2008, she was Head of Production on an ‘after school’ children’s television show in New Zealand. She also has a background in the performing arts.

Alicia Kinsey
Alicia has joined the CIS to take up the part-time front desk administration role. She comes to us with strong administrative experience, her last position being the Office Manager for The Sports Physio Clinic. Alicia has a Bachelor of Social Science and a Post Graduate Certificate in Policing Intelligence and Counter-terrorism.

Kerri Evans
Kerri joined the CIS to take up the part-time front desk administration role. A teacher by training, Kerri has also gained great experience in administration having worked for many years as the Education and Community Relations Co-ordinator for the Sydney Attractions Group.

General Manager and Student Programmes Coordinator
Jenny Lindsay
Jenny works as the General Manager for the CIS. in additional to that role she has been coordinating the Liberty and Society student program for a number of years. She has a BA from the University of NSW and worked for many years in management positions in the retail industry and then running her own business as a merchandising consultant and retail trainer. Before joining the CIS, she also owned and ran Commentary Books, a specialised mail-order book business.

Media Manager
Jessica Kostera
Jessica has come to the CIS after spending two years as the Communications Officer for Warrnambool City Council. Her focus was on online and social media management as well as developing a successful council magazine and co-ordinating community projects. Jessica has a BA in Visual Arts from The University of South Australia and a Master of Communication from Deakin University. She also spent time studying in Canada, India and Chile.

Bronwyn joined CIS in 2007. Bronwyn has 25 years experience in office administration in both the public and private sectors and has a BA (English) from the University of New South Wales.
