Australia's Urban Water Challenge: A Drought of Ideas
A decade of drought has put Australia’s water supplies to the test leaving us with a drought of ideas, not of resources.
Water management is no simple task in Australia and, to compound the problem, our population is projected to grow to 36 million by 2050. How can we use our water more efficiently? What are other countries doing better than us? Should we build more dams? And can our water infrastructure cope with anticipated population growth?
Rebecca Gill will discuss her recent CIS report Droughts and Flooding Rains: Water Provision for a Growing Australia, and will identify some of Australia’s urban water challenges. She will argue that a range of water solutions are available to support our expected population growth. A Meet the Researcher Lecture
