Dinner in Brisbane with Brendan O'Neill from Spiked!

The Centre for Independent Studies is very excited that our spiky libertarian friend from London, Brendan O’Neill is coming back to Australia. Please join Brendan and the CIS for a night of witty discussion at Ciccio’s Italian restaurant. Places are strictly limited and booking essential.

Topic to be confirmed shortly.

Described as “one of Britain’s sharpest social commentators” by the Daily Telegraph, and as a “sub-Danny Dyer obnoxious intellectual wind-up merchant” by the Guardian, Brendan O’Neill is editor of the online magazine spiked. He is also a columnist for the Big Issue in London, for which he was nominated for the Columnist of the Year prize at the 2014 British Press and Publishing Awards. He is author of the green satire Can I Recycle My Granny and 39 Other Eco-Dilemmas, which was described by the BBC as “a skidmark on the gusset of environmentalism”. In 2014 he was CIS’s first scholar-in-residence. He has argued that “giving offence in the square, thin-skinned 21st century is not just a right — it’s a duty”.
