SYDNEY - An evening with Niall Ferguson

An evening full of wide ranging discussions of the most important economic and geo-political questions of our day.

From the rise and fall of the British and American Empires, to the killer apps that Western cultures have used to create prosperity, to a financial history of the world, Niall Ferguson writes and broadcasts about enormous topics, and brings them to life for contemporary audiences. A distinguished historian, currently the Laurence A Tisch Professor of History at Harvard, his most recent work is a biography of divisive statesman Henry Kissinger.

He is a prolific commentator on current politics and economics and readily engages with controversial issues. Join him for a wide ranging discussion of the most important economic and geo-political questions of our day, and the historical perspectives that should illuminate our answers.

The Centre for Independent Studies is excited to partner with the Sydney Opera House to host this special event as part of our 40th anniversary Lighthouse Lecture Series.
