CIS Members’ Christmas Party
Tuesday, 6 December 2016
A packed room celebrated the end of a big year for the CIS with remarks by John Howard OM, AC and cartoonist Bill Leak. We finished off with the announcement of the winner of the Nanny Award.
The Centre for Independent Studies (CIS), Australia’s foremost independent public policy think tank is seeking a public policy expert to join our research team. Building on seminal work by Charles Murray in the US and former CIS researcher Professor Peter Saunders, the research program of the successful candidate will look at the economic, social and cultural issues arising from the changing nature of work and the family. The research will look at the impact on Australia of factors as diverse as the technological change, labour markets, welfare spending, the underclass and inequality. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an organisation with a reputation for producing influential policy work.
The CIS has an ongoing intern program. We do however only take interns when there is a research program that has a requirement and an appropriate mentor to work with the intern. We do not currently have an foreign affairs program so would be more interested in economics and other social science students and graduates. Please send your CV and a cover letter to the General Manager
