Why move and where?

Why are we moving?

Halfway through last year we were informed that 38 Oxley St, St Leonards would be demolished in early 2016 to make room for a residential development.

Together with the upcoming 40th anniversary, this news prompted an organisational reassessment of the CIS’s future.  The Board made the decision to use a part of the Capital
Fund to invest in permanent headquarters for the Centre.

Where to?

Our new permanent home is Level 1, 131 Macquarie Street, Sydney.

Being in the heart of the CBD will allow easier access for our members and friends, creating more opportunities to build relationships with key business, media and political players.

Our new premises will have a larger and more versatile lecture space, allowing us to broaden the scope of our events program.

The office will incorporate media facilities, meeting rooms, and expanded research space. An open plan, flexible work environment will bring all the CIS staff back together on one floor, allowing ideas and debate to flourish more than ever before.
