Join the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney for a lunch forum on Wednesday, 24 September with Senator Jonathon Duniam, Shadow Federal Minister for Education, as he sets out the federal Opposition’s thinking about restoring excellence in Australian education.
Australia’s school system faces significant challenges: declining results in literacy and numeracy, concerns about classroom behaviour and attendance, and parents demanding greater transparency and accountability. Having recently been appointed as the Shadow Education Minister, Senator Duniam will outline his early thinking about the Coalition’s priorities to restore the fundamentals of education — ensuring a stronger focus on reading, writing, and maths; driving improved student achievement and discipline; providing parents with clearer information about school performance; and reaffirming the role of choice and values in education.
This is an important opportunity to hear firsthand about the alternative philosophy for Australian schooling and to participate in Q&A discussion.
Jonathon Duniam is the Shadow Federal Minister for Education and a Liberal Senator for Tasmania.
