New opposition Leader Angus Taylor delivered his first address to the Centre for Independent Studies since becoming Liberal leader.
In an address to the Centre for Independent Studies on Monday, Taylor also condemned the prospect of Labor imposing new carbon taxes on certain imports to help the competitiveness of Australian industries required to reduce emissions.
Speaking at the Centre for Independent Studies on Monday, Taylor again admitted it was an error to go to the 2025 election promising to revoke Labor’s top-up tax cuts.
Speaking at the conservative think tank Centre for Independent Studies, Taylor claimed Labor’s approach forces every family into a “universal system” that lacks necessary variety. He vowed to “free it up” and prioritise flexibility and choice for parents.
“We will come forward with a strong, lower tax package that absolutely must be what we take to the next election,” Angus Taylor told the Centre for Independent Studies.
“We shouldn’t discriminate based on race or religion, but we should based on values,” he told the Centre for Independent Studies on Monday.

Taylor did address the issue of immigration in a speech to the Centre for Independent Studies in Sydney on Monday afternoon.

In a later address at the Centre for Independent Studies, Taylor was unbothered by Chalmers’ remarks while acknowledging that Labor did not accept his proposal.
“He’s obviously someone who is a real role model,” Taylor told the Centre for Independent Studies (CIS) on Monday, as former prime minister John Howard looked on.
“We shouldn’t discriminate based on race or religion, but we should [discriminate] based on values,” he said at the Centre for Independent Studies on Monday.
